Hilton Austin held a celebration event on April 5 that welcomed more than 300 guests, Austin city officials, VIPs and community partners as the hotel received the 2017 Connie Award, a Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand award with the highest honor. As the recipient of this award, Hilton Austin demonstrated the greatest level of quality and service out of 150 Hilton-branded hotels that have over 500 rooms, and ranks as a leading Hilton hotel in the Americas. In addition to the 2017 Connie Award, Hilton Austin’s General Manager Robert Watson was named “Leader of the Year” by Hilton. Out of 287 Hilton general managers in the Americas, this award is presented to the general manager who best represents hospitality by living Hilton values and bringing culture and purpose to life in their hotel.

The hotel’s former Spa Aquazul underwent a $500,000 renovation to be converted to the brand’s innovative global spa concept featuring a menu of treatments designed to help guests 'emerge brighter' from their spa experience, feeling renewed, uplifted and refreshed.
Today, Hilton London Metropole, Hilton’s largest hotel in Europe, has launched a new flexible, all-inclusive food & beverage concept for meetings of up to 50 people. The new initiative, which forms part of Hilton’s “Meetings Simplified” package, recognises the growing importance of food as part of the meetings experience along with the desire for more flexibility and informality. It has been developed following extensive customer research by Hilton with meeting and event bookers and agents.
Celebrating the 55th anniversary of Alcatraz Island’s closure as a federal prison, Parc 55 San Francisco is setting the stage for “Alcatraz: Life on the Rock” and “Alcatraz, The Last Day” exhibits. In addition, the hotel will be hosting a speaker series with former guards, a prisoner and residents of the island.
Hilton Austin today announced it will open a new overhead walkway that will connect the hotel’s sixth floor to the fourth floor of the Austin Convention Center at E. 4th and Neches streets. The walkway, expected to be complete May 2018, will provide a seamless and safer alternative for guests to move from the convention center to Hilton Austin versus crossing at street level. The project also includes an 1,891 square-foot outdoor terrace that will be located off the sixth floor on the west side of the hotel.

Set in the midst of the lighted winter wonderland of ’Tis the Season, over 2.5 tons and 7.6 million calories of sugary confection await holiday travelers. Hilton Americas-Houston Pastry Chef Mahesh Weerasinghe and Sous Pastry Chef Glenna Artripe, along with the hotel’s property operations team, have created a holiday gingerbread display that would tempt even Hansel and Gretel.
